This Newbery Honor-winning, hilarious Floridian adventure involves new kids, bullies, alligators, eco-warriors, pancakes, pint-sized owls, and more. A New York Times bestseller!

Everybody loves Mother Paula’s pancakes. Everybody, that is, except the colony of cute but endangered owls that live on the building site of the new restaurant. Can the awkward new kid and his feral friend prank the pancake people out of town? Or is the owls’ fate cemented in pancake batter?

Hoot Is a great book with lots of adventure. I'd have to admit is is a little hard to follow because it is two stories in one book. This book makes you laugh, get mad, and just be scared for the characters. Hoot is a story that will make your day. The chapters are quite long so this is not a book for beginner readers. One of the stories is about two nemisises, Roy and Dana. Roy get Dana arrested. Mullet fingers is Roy's other friend who turns out to be Roys worst enemies step brother. ( Worst enemy = Beatrice). This is an amazing book and I recommend it to all readers who like a mystery with some rebellion mixed in.

I have read other Carl Hiaasen books before, and I loved them! This book is mainly about three kids that found out a company was going to clear land, and they would destroy burrowing owls homes! In the end, those three kids helped save the owls!

I find this book good so far at chapter 11, in the beginning the book was starting out slow, after chapter 8 the book was jumping in my face and now I want to read the book, a 5 star recommendation.

I loved this book . I this was kind of true because if I wanted to save the owls I would do it . Who would build some restaurant on top of innocent owls .They knew that there were owls in there living . Roy had a real heart to help a boy out to save owls . I'm glad they made a book like this , so people could know not to do such horrible things . I also like the way it took place in Florida . Its a great book .

I loved this book because it conveys the emotions of the characters

This book starts off a little boring. I really lost interest. My mom forced me to continue reading it., and after a while, the book became more interesting and I actually really enjoyed it. I was soon hooked and I had no problem with picking the book up and reading it. After the beginning, this book was great!
