This Newbery Honor-winning, hilarious Floridian adventure involves new kids, bullies, alligators, eco-warriors, pancakes, pint-sized owls, and more. A New York Times bestseller!

Everybody loves Mother Paula’s pancakes. Everybody, that is, except the colony of cute but endangered owls that live on the building site of the new restaurant. Can the awkward new kid and his feral friend prank the pancake people out of town? Or is the owls’ fate cemented in pancake batter?

I don't know what to say. This book was so fantastic, it was mind blowing! It was about a boy named Roy, and when he spots something suspicious, like a barefooted boy running from his school bus with no backpack or school supplies, he is hot on the trail after the mysterious boy. Then, when he meets the boy, he learned that he had a sister. The boy and his sister and Roy are trying to save these owls from getting rolled over, because the farm field where the burrowing owls were living in was being crushed to make a pancake shop. This book is full of adventure, curiosity, and animal protection. It was an interesting and fabulous book, that intrigued me and inspired me.

Hoot is a great book! It's about a kid named Roy who moved to Florida. On the way to school, he spots a barefoot boy running. Wanting to find out who the boy is, he follows the boy and suddenly finds himself in a thrilling adventure trying to save burrowing owls and their homes from the construction of a new pancake restaurant. It is very captivating and hilarious!

This is a great book! I had it at my house for a really long time and I didn't bother reading it until May 27, 2015. I absolutely love this book because of its humor and its plot! I would definitely recommend this book to practically anybody!
