Hatchet is a decent book. I can understand why it is very popular. It’s not something I would most likely read, because I am not the biggest fan of survival stories, but it was an interesting book. 4 stars, is what I would rate it. It's a story about a 13 year old boy suffering from his parent’s divorce, who has to survive on his own as the result of a plane crash on his way to Canada. My favorite aspect of the book is when he has to gather up his courage and bravery to survive and not give up. I think that this makes him a respectable character, as most people most likely would’ve given up, considering the circumstances. Overall I would recommend Hatchet to anyone who likes survival stories, or bravery books.
