This Novel really caught my eye because of the diversity of characters and I wasn't disappointed. You get views from either side of the battle and you get to see what it was like for those sides. Many of the characters allow you to get attached to them.Over 7 years agokeefur1617 added a book review.
I loved the book although I believe they could have saved certain character deaths for other characters and some not all, but that’s not a deal breaker. I would give this book a 3.5-4 stars out of 5. You could in some scenes and parts really feel how Jeff was feeling and you could feel also how hard some choices were such as staying with the union or joining the confederates . I would highly recommend this book to anyone in 7th grade who are VERY mature, I say this because of the language and other aspects in the book, so I would suggest this book mainly to high-schoolersOver 7 years agotobthi1617 added a book review.

Almost 8 years agotobthi1617's book review was featured in Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes.
A hero. A person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. In my book, Percy Jackson’s greek heroes (by Rick Riordan) it is all about the heroes in greek mythology. I have read three of the stories in this book, but for the sake of simplicity, I will be focusing on one, the story of Perseus. There are three major settings in this story, the kingdom of Argos, Seriphos, and the gorgons cave, the time in this story is anytime BC. The protagonist in this story is Perseus, a very strong child with a difficult task at hand. The antagonist in this story is Polydectes, a king that wants Perseus’ mom as his wife. The first conflict is when Polydectes tries to pursue Perseus’ mom. The second conflict is when Perseus was given the task to bring the head of medusa back to Polydectes. The turning point in this book is when Perseus arrives at the mouth of the Gorgon’s cave, sword in hand. This book is great because it has the action of the original greek myths, but the wittiness that Rick Riordan has always put in his books. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mythology.Almost 8 years agotobthi1617 added a book review.

Have you ever wondered what life at a freak show would be, or how would life be if you had to go against your morals just to survive? Well in the book i’m reviewing it is called Cirque Du Freak:The Vampire’s Assistant it is by: Darren Shan in the last book Darren the protagonist just got turned into a half vampire to save his best friend steve. While the antagonist is R.V (or reggie) because he freed the wolfman that got Darren’s new friend killed. The book has no certain time period although it can be inferred that it takes place in the late 90’s or early 2000’s also the setting jumps around a lot seeing how they are on the move for the good portion of the book but it does take place in a field, a small campsite and a train station (also a couple farms). One major conflict is when R.V releases the wolfman and it killed sam and a few freaks. The second major conflict faced throughout the book is that Darren does not want to drink human blood even if it means he will die. The turning point is when Darren drinks the blood of his fallen friend to save the memories that would be lost. I would recommend this book to people who like long series and books that are a bit more grown up, this book is more for 6th graders or older.Almost 8 years ago
