I made a connection of how Martha Boyle is twelve years old and I'm about to turn twelve. A summary of this book a stranger knocks on twelve-year-old Martha Boyle's door and hands her a piece of paper. She identifies herself as Olive Barstow's mother, then she thanks Martha and leaves. Martha is startled because Olive was a girl in her grade last year who had recently died after being hit by a car. I give this book a three star star rating because the characters are a great part of this book, but at some points it would get sad.

The connection I made was that Kira had a twisted leg, and once my sister had an injury in her arm. This book is about a girl named Kira, who had to watch her mother pass away, with a twisted leg. However, she soon realizes that the Council, and their purposes, are not what they seem to be. I rate this book a five star because I love reading books by Lois Lowry, and this is another great book by her.

I made a connection of this book because Skiff had a fish before and once at my friend's party he offered fish as a pet for all of us. A summary of this book is about a young twelve year old boy by the name of Skiff Beamen. Skiff is a lonely boy in his own world. Nobody seems to understand where he comes from. Ever since Skiff's mom died in an unknown accident, his dad never took part in his life. I rate this book a four star because it was sad that his parents never took part of his life, but he found a way to enjoy life.

I rate this book a 3 star rating because though it was a great book overall I think this was too sad for me. Ida B. Applewood lives in a world where everything is pretty near perfect. Her parents love her, and she loves them. The three of them live on a beautiful Wisconsin farm with lots of land, an apple orchard and a brook. And she has Rufus, a slobbery dog, to keep her company. Ida B has plenty of time to be alone, and she relishes being able to talk to the trees (whom she has named) and share her plans. Read more to find out what happens next! Tee connection I made was that I always have time to be alone.

I rate this book a 4 star because it was a very interesting book and got me hooked in at the start. The book tells the story of Joey and his sister Mary Alice, city children from Chicago who visit their Grandma Dowdel in her sleepy, rural town during eight summers between 1929 to 1942, the years of the Great Depression. Grandma Dowdel is an unusual woman with much energy and a seize-the-day attitude, and Joey and Mary Alice have several unexpected adventures with her. The book is written in “novel in stories” style, also called short story cycle, in which a collection of short stories is presented in a way that makes reading the whole more enhanced than reading each individual part. The connection I made is that I almost every summer I go to my grandma's house at least twice a week.
