Albert Kinney: The average 7th grader. Just a normal kid trying to get into the soccer team. You might be thinking, "UGH WHO CARES ABOUT A 7TH GRADER WHO IS TRYING TO GET INTO THE SOCCER TEAM. THIS IS GOING TO BE SUCH A BORING PLOT." He tries out for the soccer team and he doesn't make it. But what happens is that he get abducted by aliens. Now that's a pretty cool plot. He gets abducted by aliens and they end up telling him that they want him to play soccer for thier team! Albert is still confused and shcked by that fact that there are such things as aliens. Okay let's recap so far, middle school kid tries out for soccer team. Fails. Gets abducted by aliens, and what else well they want him to be their Star Stikers. The planet that he will be playing for is Zeenod. Pretty cool name if you ask me. I can't tell too much without spoling the book. I would reccomend to anyone who likes Sci-Fi and Soccer.

The dark tale of Adelina Amouteru begins where she is known to be a survivor of the Blood Fever, a plague that swept through Kenettra, and if you survived you would receive mystical powers. Adelina is being sold off by her father, by men who come at night. His father decides to sell her off to pay his debts. After hearing this Adelina starts packing her valuables and thinks about running away. Her father chases after and tries to persuade him to come back, but when that doesn’t work he resorts to violence. This unleashes Adelina’s mysterious powers and this leads to her killing her own father, with the horses trampling him. Brutal. She gets caught by the Inquisition Guards while running away, and gets thrown into a prison in the capital city of Estenzia. When she’s having her final meal a prisoner comes in, getting pulled by the guards into the cell next to hers but unleashes his power at them and kills the guards. This person is revealed to be The Reaper. Also known as Enzo. He is another survivor of the blood fever. He used his powers to free Adelina out of jail, seeing how much of an asset Adelina can be to the Dagger Society and the Young Elites. This is how much I would want to cover, not give any spoilers. This is not a summary, not a book review to answer your homework that’s due on the next day. Ok? <Spoilers> Overall I think the character’s are amazing. Adelina has great story development seeing that she kills her family member in the very first chapters of her life story. This builds up her dark side leading for her objective of just residing peace into the world. I feel like that she is under discrimination and she is suffering, while the other elites just want Enzo to take the throne. We see new and new characters each chapter. I’m going to make this a bit shorter and cover up the side characters, the antagonist and the plot, I really don’t wanna take 15 minutes of your time. Raffaele is the type of character who you would think would betray the main character, when in reality that some different, other guy, I’ll get to him later. Raffaele is basically her keeper, and he guides the way for Adelina in the first half in the story. There is a scene though that proves that he is cautious and thinks that Adelina is a threat to the Young Elites and the Dagger Society, though their trust builds up throughout the story. Raffaele is a great support to Adelina putting his faith and trust. Enzo on the other hand, in my opinion thinks that Adelina is just an asset to get him the throne. There is no other reason that Enzo would even break her out of the prison. She even thinks in her mind when Enzo say’s “we couldn’t save them anyways,” when it actually meant, “I just don’t see the potential in them.” Enzo is very crucial to the plot though seeing that he gets killed with his fight with Teren. Another person who got killed was Spider. Also known as Dante. Dante is very suspicious of Adelina, but his sole purpose is just wanting to get her out of the Young Elites seeing that he despises her and overprotective of Enzo and his relationship. The book overall is decen seeing that the worldbuilding in this book somehow relates to society in real life. Seeing that there is a lot of discrimination, and how malfetto’s are treated. A decent 4.5 but I can’t do 4.5 on DOGObooks so… a five I guess.

flowerpotter's book review was featured in Aru Shah and the End of Time (A Pandava Novel Book 1) (Pandava Series).
Spider-Man PJ's?? You have to start laughing when you hear that. The first book of the padava series, the nostalgia. Anyways, back to the review. This book showcases all of things you would see in a Rick Riordan book, but somehow manages to keep on top and stay with its hilarious but yet serious tone. We see that in Aru's point of view it really is a joke and it's becoming a reality for her. Who can't forget the overprotectively obnoxious Mimi?! (p.s not an animal!) As we move along the story we have the "rich, and popular" kids and pressure Aru into lighting the lamp that her mom had specifically said NOT TO LIGHT THE LAMP. As the Hindu myths come together and build the world as many people think that are myth, Aru Shah and her spider man pajama's, are going to have to say the world. Plot: The plot rises up as a steady but also quick tempo. We already see that Aru is deceiver as she tricks everyone into thinking that she drinks exotic drinks for Paris bakery's when her mom goes there for work trips. The plot quickly picks up the pace again, as I said in the intro, that "the rich, and popular girls/and one boy" pressure her into lighting the lamp. BIG MISTAKE. As the Sleeper is freed the Otherworld is in massive danger. We soon meet Mini, her pandava soul sister, a reincarnation Yudhistira. And she is known to be super overprotective, worrying about death. Oh wait a minute she is the daughter of Death how nice. Characters: Aru: She is obviously the extremely funny protagonist, we tends to have inside thoughts but never share them as for later book in the series, but if were talking abut this one, she basically has no companions early in the story but meet up with Mini: Mini is a very small girl, hence the name, and is very overprotective of her friends, she even get worried if Aru trip. NERD. But all those things aside, Aru and Mini compliment each other with their own strengths and weaknesses, as Mini thinks before getting into a situation while, Aru just goes as whatever is scenario is given to them, Boo: You're probably guessing oh a person! Well your wrong and right, Boo is a pigeon, who can talk, he is thousands of years old. Why is a pigeon you may ask? Well his real name Shakhuni who is the great deceiving sorcerer. Who led the Pandava brothers in exile hundreds of thousands years before. Aru Sha and the End of Time is a remarkable book, any Rick Riordan fans go rush there in 3 seconds and buy the books and read it in a day. I know you guys are like addicted and don't have anything to read so you just keep on reading the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo, and all the other Rick Riordan series. I did too but until I found out about this great author named Roshani Chokshi I was all in. Automatic 5 stars
