A satisfying pick up from the cliffhanger the last book ended on, this book begin right in the action. We get to see Connor develop further as well as the First Daughter. This book brought me to unexpected tears at times as well as proud and patriotic. I loved the alternate present it provided with President Mendez. Told through multiple POVs, the conclusion to his first mission pulled together in a gratifying bam. The book hardly slows down and tears through scenes. The writing is easy and to the point, although there is a fair amount of violence. I finished this book in a few hours. A fun, exhilarating summer read.Over 7 years agoaurora19 added a book review.

This was an excellent, quick, enthralling read. The main character, Connor, was pragmatic, skilled, charming and likable. You could definitely tell the intricate research the author brought into the book. The side characters were all multifaceted and my feelings shifted for them over time. I read the book over a few hours, unable to put it down. I loved reading about the inside world of the White House and the antics of the first daughter. It was impossible to be bored while reading this book. In conclusion, this made an fantastic beginning to what is sure to be a fascinating series.Over 7 years agoaurora19 added a book review.

This book was unbelievably incredible! I laughed and cried and I haven't stopped thinking about it. The characters were delightful, unique, flawed and oh so real. The book discussed race, poverty, immigration, grief, lost dreams, infidelity, fate and the incredible powers of love. I think Nicola Yoon is one of my new favorite authors.Over 7 years agoaurora19 added a book review.

I loved this book, while lacking originality it made up for it in humor and a strong, quirky female main character. It was an adorable read that I finished in a evening, but it made me laugh out loud. I have loved many of Kasie West's other books.Over 7 years agoaurora19 added a book review.
I LOVED this book! The character' dry humor had me laughing out loud a lot. It dealt with topics of wealthy, prejudice and family. I truly enjoyed reading this book. The characters were lovable, although sometimes I wanted to hit them over the head. An excellent read.Over 7 years ago
