I am not an immigrant and i dont know the struggles of being an immigrant but this book is amazing although it cqn be a bit odd it is stll a very good book, 4 stars! would reccomend

Three Keys, the sequel to Front Desk, is a bittersweet story about racism, finding your place in life, and the meaning of equality. Mia Tang and her family are finally on the good roller coaster. Mia's family owns the Calivista Motel and the popularity is growing tremendously! Mia has the best friend in the world, Lupe. Plus things with Jason are actually going...good. But when Prop 187 is starting to get some serious votes, with makes undocumented immigrants leave schools and their homes, Mia realises that she may need to make some noise to stop this prop. But when someone very special to Mia might be threatened to go back to their country, Mia persists to stop Prop 187 and all of the hatred, racism, and inequality in the world. Forming a club of non hate, going to rallies, and constantly writing letters Mia discovers the true meaning of herself and how to stand up for others. From the author that brought you Front Desk, Kelly Yang shows the problems in our world and how Mia tries to fix them. Happy reading!

OMG!! This book is amazing! The emotion and the events were just amazing. I'm not an immigrant so I don't know how it feels but I felt so sorry for Lupe when the proposition and I was so relieved when I found out that it wasn't going to go into effect immediately. I highly recommend this book! 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿

This book was really bad to me. I don't think that in real life a family would suffer that much. Also I have friends who immigrated from Mexico, and his family actually saved up moneys, so they were prepared. I strongly urge supporting immigrants undocumented or documented.

A disclosure before this review: I am not an immigrant. I have no clue about the struggles they go through everyday, so please know that that will possibly influence the review. As far as sequels go, it isn't a terrible book. I will read it again, but it is not as good as the original novel. I appreciated being able to see Lupe's struggles, and Mia's friendship with Jason flowering and growing. That being said! The change from Mia's family trying to save every penny, and hearing about their struggle for money in the first book to the family splurging on everything, Buying dresses that are two hundred dollars, trying to pay people money for dong nothing, etc. That is just the only problem I have with the book, but otherwise I loved it.
