It's Christmastime in 1920s Chicago, but in the eyes of ten-year-old Rudy Hutchinson, it seems there's nothing to celebrate. His father, an attorney, decides to take a controversial case defending a Jewish boy accused of murder, and Rudy's life is turned upside down.
