The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 3)

The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 3)

By Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, are sent to find two extremely powerful half-bloods in a military school. While trying to escort them to Camp Half-Blood, a manticore appears and ruins their plans. The iconic Hunters of Artemis come to their rescue, and the older of the two half-bloods, Bianca, decides to join them. While Kronos' army starts to build, a new prophecy arises. One that stated that the moon goddess, Artemis, is in danger, both campers and Hunters must unite. I feel that this, out of all five books, was the best. It stands out on its own. It really has depth to it, and I almost cried once or twice. But Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia have to get through it, otherwise the planet will be destroyed. New characters rise and fall, and the whole book is one big roller-coaster ride. This fantasy-mystery book will keep everyone hooked, even the mysterious General.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Graphic Novels Series, Book 1)

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Graphic Novels Series, Book 1)

By Rick Riordan

This is the first book of this serie, and I like it the most because it's most original, and that's when everything happened, the truth is revealed. So, this is about a boy named Percy Jackson. All his life is boring, he lives with his mom, and mean step father that always beat up his mom and him. He was told that his dad left him since he's only a baby. he has difficulties reading english, because the words always change into different patterns he always thought that he has ADHD. Until one day, when he went on a field trip to a museum. A teacher asked Percy for a private talk and transformed into a monster and tried to kill him, because she thought that he's the lightning thief (the person who stole the lightning bolt from Zues). And then he found out that he's actually a half blood, half god (Poseidon), half human, and his best friend Grover is a half goat to protect Percy. After what happened in the museum, Percy is no longer safe, so he went to the half blood camp thing so that it will protect him. And later on this story, he will find the real lightning thief, return the bolt back to Zeus which saved the peace of Earth know as the human world. I really love this book, because it's very intense, and its about Greek mythology which I'm pretty interested in, love the movie too! Enjoy.

The Meltdown (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 13)

The Meltdown (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 13)

By Jeff Kinney

I love the wimpy kid books! They're all very funny, and they have great plots throughout the story. Here are some of my favorites in the series: Old school, Double down, Diary of a Wimpy kid, and Dog Days. I always read the Wimpy kid books in my spare time. But I recommend reading the books to yourself because tbh it doesn't have much words and when I was first introducing the book to my friend I read it aloud and my friend didn't like the book as much as she does now when she reads them to herself my other friends also agree that reading it to yourself makes the wimpy kid book seem better. But overall I love reading the wimpy kid books, the characters are very funny, I also like the movies, probably not as much as I like the books though because the books are sooooo good.

The Storybook of Legends

The Storybook of Legends

By Shannon Hale

This story keeps people wondering, what is going to happen next.It is enjoyable as well as very nicely written. It is mainly wrote around the perspective of Raven Queen(daughter of the Evil Queen) and Apple White(daughter of Snow White). The day of Legacy Day brings fear and joy to Apple`s mind. That day she will pledge her destiny, become the next Snow White and live her own Happily Ever After. On the other hand if Raven does not pledge to be the next Evil Queen and give Apple the poisoned apple it could mean a Happily Never After for both of them. The End is just the beginning...

Where the Red Fern Grows

Where the Red Fern Grows

By Wilson Rawls

There are a lot of good and great books in the world, but Where The Red Fern Grows is definitely something special. Ten year old Billy Colman has his heart set on getting dogs. To be specific, he wants two coonhounds. He asks again and again for those two dogs, but as much as his parents want to get them for him, they can't afford two coonhounds for Billy. So Billy works long and hard so he can buy two coonhounds with his own money. Eventually, Billy gets the amount he needs and buys two coonhounds. He names them Old Dan and Little Ann. Billy works with them and trains them, and Old Dan and Little Ann turn out to be excellent coon hunters. They tree so many raccoons which Billy sells to get money for his family. Soon, Old Dan and Little Ann are more to Billy than his hunting dogs. They are his best friends. Where The Red Fern Grows is such a heartwarming story. I love the bond Billy has with his dogs. This classic is one of my favorites. I recommend this book to boys and girls ages 10+.

To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird

By Harper Lee

Many said that Harper Lee would, in fact, not be able to write a good novel. Her first and most famous one, however, did prove them wrong. This is a charming classic that follows the journey of a small, six year old girl named Scout as she explores the wonder of growing up in a world ran entirely by adults. It's during the depression and Scout's single father, Atticus, is having a harder time then usual supporting her and her older brother, Jem, which is strange news for a lawyer. When he gets a tough case, regarding an african american man framed for harassment, he finds many struggles within the case itself as well as the input of his fellow townsfolk. Having grown up in a sleepy Alabama town in the 30's, Scout was sheltered most of her life from the reality that encompassed the rest of the world. She has never seen so much excitement in her life. The most unique thing about this novel is how the story grows. Most books allow you access to the main character's own mental growth, but this book showcases the development of an entire town and how changing one thing may lead others to turn against one another or rise up for the cause. In To Kill a Mockingbird, you will be able to relate to the mentally excelled main character and the way that she views things from outside the box and without a previous knowing. I recommend this book for an older audience because of its language and rather mature themes. It will always have a warm spot in my heart as one of the most touching and cleverly written books in existence.

I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912

I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912

By Lauren Tarshis

''UNSINKABLE!!'' Well, not exactly. This is a historical fiction book, taking place on April 15th 1912, but you should already know your history! George Calder is the main character in this short (but still very awesome) novel. He boards the Titanic for one reason-- to see his father! George explores the inside of the soon-to-sink cruise ship, he even tries to find a mummy in the ship! But at precisely 2:20 AM on a COLD, LONELY night, the ship SINKS. The novel portrays exactly what it must've been like when the guests realized the ship WAS SINKING! Screaming, the sound of waves crashing, the devastating wreck, and how George felt about this terribly awful situation! I promise you this book isn't just the titanic sinking, it has more, it has more about George's life and why he's crossing the titanic, and the aftermath of it ALL. I recommend you READ IT because it SURE sent shivers down MY spine and it was so TENSE to read!
