LOve these!

From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

By E.L. Konigsburg

E. L. Konigsburg is one of my favorite authors. This story was about one girl named Claudia, and one boy named Jamie. They decide to run away from their house because they think their parents were too bossy to them. They decide to run away to the Metropolitan Museum, which was kind of weird in my personal way. It was amazing how they didn't get noticed in the beginning, but at the end, they get to a newspaper and got caught from their parent's notice to to the FBI. I love this book. Out of 100, I would give this book 100.

He comes across a boy on the other side of the fence whos name is Shmuel. Bruno doesn't exactly know why Shmuel is on a different side and why he can't come to Bruno's side. John Boyne does an amazing job capturing and displaying the emotions throughout the book. I give this book 5 stars because of the amazing and captivating writing.

Doing all these crazy adventures that I would never think about doing especially in this book when they have to do tasks for Merlin the Wizard of Camalot. I would recommend this book ages 9-12 because this book is full of the craziest adventure in the series as my favorite part how they have to face a giant SERPENTINE. Can Jack and Annie get the sword to Merlin before it's too late? Read Magic Treehouse Summer of the Sea Serpent to find out.

The Witches

The Witches

By Roald Dahl

This story is about a boy who lived with his grandmother in Norway. They wanted to get rid of all the horrible witches in England and MOSTLY of the wicked GRAND HIGH WITCH who is the one who rules all the cruel witches. But there was a problem.......... What will happen when they go to the Hotel Magnificent? Who are they going to meet? Will boy and his grandmother get what they want? I enjoyed this book because it gives you a lot of suspense. Roald Dahl shows that he is on the children´s side. My favourite part of the story is when boy puts the mouse maker in the soup.I love the way Roald Dahl invents words and makes his characters REALLY interesting. I recommend this book to children who are 8 or more years old. This book is just right for the ones who like adventures and suspense. Roald Dahl is a fantastic writer because he uses a lot of adjectives, he describes very well and includes suspense in the stories.

Scar Island

Scar Island

By Dan Gemeinhart

Jonathan Grisby has done something horrible. And he's willing to accept whatever punishment is coming his way. That made him get in Slabhenge Reformatory School for Troubled Boys. Not really a school; an ancient island. In Slabhenge, you don't write essays about your summer. You don't have recess. You don't read books. You don't have science labs and classes- all you do is work, work, work. And what I mean by ''work'' is cleaning the bedrooms, cleaning the bathrooms, cleaning the kitchens, and scrubbing the floors. But then something abrupt happens. All the adults get stuck by lightning and die. So now that they have freedom, they plan to wait for the boat, explain what happened, and go home. But Jonathan has other ideas. He tells the boys, why don't we stay here? We can live on our own, no rules, and nobody will look at us and think ''troublemakers''. First, the boys think it's a crazy idea. But then they think about it. But first of all- they need a new name- ''Scar Island''. When Sebastian, this kid who also agreed to the idea, starts acting like he's the boss, he gets angry at Jonathan for making him look bad. They make Jonathan go do one of the chores, but he discovers a library. ''You cannot leave a library. Without a book.'' But when a terrible hurricane comes, Scar Island is going under water. The librarian told them to use the lighthouse. So now they would get saved and go home. This book is so good! I feel the characters and this book actually connects a bit to my life. I could feel the way Dan Gemeinhart was expressing his characters. I definitely would give this book a 5/5 rating. Highly recommended.

Endling #1: The Last

By Katherine Applegate

Byx has always struggled to survive. In a country oppressed by people who want to conquer the whole world, staying alive is key...and the Murdano, their twisted ruler, might come for Byx’s species—the dairnes—next. Now, the number of dairnes left in the world is very low—just a group of four families, barely enough to make a pack. But no one thought these rare animals would go completely extinct...until they did. Now, Byx is cast out into the world as an endling; the last dairne ever. She has feared this, ever since she overheard her parents talking about it one day. Survival becomes even harder, as she fights to stay alive. But when she meets Tobble, a creature called a wobbyk; Khara, a human girl who likes to disguise herself as a man; Gambler, a big cat with many principles; and Renzo, a thief, everything changes. Soon, Byx is not only hoping with all her heart that the dairnes will come back someday, but following her last hope. A legend that might save her life...and maybe even find other dairnes who survived the cruelty of the Murdano! As love, sacrifice, and betrayal follow their quest, the five companions must make a huge decision; whether to continue following a legend that may not be true—or do something that will save the whole country from the Murdano’s evil reign.
