The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 4)

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 4)

By Rick Riordan

I rate this book a 5/5 because it has a VERY INTERESTING plot, amazing characters, and it's even a bit funny as well! And the theme is awesome as well, I mean, greek mythology? SO cool! I definitely recommend this book to all ages (except like, preschoolers or kindergarteners of course)!! But there is one flaw.... When you start reading it, you'll want to read more and more and more! XD! So, that is why you must read percy jackson immediately!!! And guess what, if you finish this series, there's even the other series: Percy jackson and the heroes of olympus!!! And others as well that all relate to greek mythology! Like The Kane Chronicles, Magnus Chase, and Trials of Apollo!

The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, Book 3)

The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, Book 3)

By rick riordan

The Mark of Athena is an amazing book. Sure it has a cliffhanger at the end but who cares. The Mark of Athena is a really good book it has lots of mythology, has characters that are easily relatable to kids, and is really interactive to a reader. This book is best for kids 5th grade - 8th grade. If you like a book with battles and adventure this is a book for you. The characters resemble kids with ADD, and ADHD, those are things. About 4.4 percent of kids have ADD, or ADHD. ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, a condition with symptoms such as inattentiveness, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, and ADD is the same thing just a shortened version, it stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. The reason this is mentioned is because all kids need role models when reading. It is really easy for kids that do not have ADHD to find role models in books. The main characters in this book are Leo, Frank, Hazel, Annabeth, Jason, Percy, Piper. They are all early teens and have unique personalities. They all have ADHD, but you will see Leo has it worst.

Explorer Academy Vela: The Sailor Cipher (Book 1)

Explorer Academy Vela: The Sailor Cipher (Book 1)

By Trudi Trueit

This novel was not only intriguing; with a nice blend of science and fantasy, The Sailor Cipher would interest most of those looking for a technologically-based story with a hint of suspense. When Sailor York returns for her second year of studies at the prestigious school, she expects a year-long adventure filled with excitement and wonder - certainly not a missing big sister. As she uncovers more about the details concerning her sibling's possible kidnapping, Sailor finds herself caught in the middle of a dangerous game filled with rival factions. And her external struggles are only compounded by her own story: Sailor has a secret that she does not want to release, yet may have to in order to succeed in her missions. As a person who is always taken aback by the sheer progression of technology in the modern world, I enjoyed reading about the various new inventions and vehicles this book displayed. As being heavily based upon the work of actual National Geographic Society members, this series debut expertly pays homage to the organization's projects. The chapters are also well-organized, with each subplot complementing the others in their advancement. While the humor seems a little forced at times, this novel overall is a read you do not want to miss. I am definitely excited for the release of the next book in the series!

Explorer Academy: The Nebula Secret

Explorer Academy: The Nebula Secret

By Trudi Trueit

WOW!!! That was my only reaction after reading this book! Just WOW! This book totally surprised me. Cruz Coronado lives in Hawaii and loves to surf. At least, he LIVED in Hawaii. The very exclusive Explorer Academy had accepted his application to attend... in WASHINGTON, D.C.! His deceased mother had gone when she was his age, and Cruz feels she would be proud of him going. At the Academy, they train kids and teens about how to explore. Pretty cool, right? Cruz definitely thinks so! There's augmented reality rooms to simulate what life will be like when they set sail to take an ACTUAL EXPLORATION! YEAH! They get to actually go out into the world and explore using the skills they learned at the Explorer Academy! Sounds like my kind of school!! But something sinister seems to be going on amidst all of the hubbub. Nebula (a medicine company) wants to stop the explorers from finding a special substance from jellyfish that can cure every single disease in the world, which would eventually put Nebula out of service (because no one is getting sick and buying their medicine)! LIKE, WHO WOULD DO THAT?!? Nebula is the DEFINITION of evil! And a strange man keeps popping up in Cruz's life... more like following him! Why is all of this happening to Cruz? Find out in Explorer Academy: The Nebula Secret. This book is spectacular! I loved it because it had fun codes, and awesome story and writing style, and showed how cool exploring is! I would absolutely LOVE to attend Explorer Academy! This book was overall FABULOUS! I recommend this book to anyone, at any age!

Spirit Animals: Book 3: Blood Ties

Spirit Animals: Book 3: Blood Ties

By Garth Nix, Sean Williams

Spirit Animals Blood Ties (book 3) is an amazing book of courage, especially shown by Meilin because she went through the whole bamboo maze with only the help Jhi and xue, to help her father in war, only later to see him die right before her eyes. The definition of Blood Ties is that Meilin wants to see her long lost father and help him in war and the "four fallen" (almost "three fallen" for the whole book) try to seek Dinesh's talisman with Meilin, Rollan, Connor, Abeke, Tarik and Lishay who had some horrible losses, and they still seem to end up with the slate elephant talisman. Sorry for some spoilers I might have given.

Number the Stars

Number the Stars

By Lois Lowry

This.. this... is a beautiful story about trust, believing in yourself, the horrors of war.. and most importantly, it's about the friendship between Annemarie and Ellen, and how families can get through the most horrible of crises if they just.. believe. This book takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark in the middle of World War II. The king is Christian X, who is loved by his people.. but unfortunately, King Christian X couldn't stop soldiers from Germany to be stationed in Denmark. It was either the soldiers or war, which King Christian X knew he couldn't win. In this time, Annemarie and her family are living a moderately peaceful, normal life.. until their normal life is shattered by a new law - that all Jewish people must be captured. One by one, the Jewish people start going missing, and Annemarie and her family need to protect Annemarie's best friend, Ellen, who is Jewish. So Ellen is disguised as Lise, Annemarie's oldest sister who died in the hands of Germany. But when a German soldier comes to investigate and Ellen is almost caught, Annemarie and her family know that the only way to save Ellen now is to take her (through a boat) safely to Sweden. But they learn people are being caught on boats going to Sweden.. but they will have to risk it. Annemarie MUST deliver a very important package to her uncle (who is driving the boat) that might save Ellen's life.. before it's too late! Lois Lowry is one of my favorite authors, because she can write brilliant masterpieces.. honestly, I think this book is possibly her best yet. It's cleverly written so that it can make readers cry, laugh, rejoice, and feel horror, without missing a beat, constantly throughout the story. I felt like I was experiencing the pain of Annemarie, the fear of Ellen, and the author made me feel like I was basically in the story, watching the events happen. Oh, and the ending.. is very touching.. possibly one of the best endings I have read in any book. I would definitely recommend Number the Stars to any reader that understands the value of life, family, and friendship.

Warriors #5: A Dangerous Path (Warriors: The Prophecies Begin)

Warriors #5: A Dangerous Path (Warriors: The Prophecies Begin)

By Erin Hunter

I just got this book and finished it. Like if you love the summary plz. I worked really hard on this. Here is a summary of it: Fireheart has been made deputy, and Sandstorm is in love with him. But, at the last Gathering, Tigerclaw, the traitor of Thunderclan, has been made leader of Shadowclan! This was the last thing Fireheart wanted, especially after the fire that overtook them. Because Bluestar had breathed smoke, Fireheart had to go in her place. Once he tells Bluestar what happened at the Gathering, Bluestar gets really mad. Over the next period of moons, Bluestar believes everyone have become traitors as well, even Fireheart. The clan is falling apart. The bad thing is, a darkness is laying in the woods waiting for the perfect chance to strike. Food goes missing. Bluestar loses her mind. The hunters have become the hunted, and there's almost nothing they can do to stop it. 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘯...
