Three Times Lucky was not a book that I enjoyed. The basic plot was a 12-year old trying to solving several murders and kidnapping cases. There are few books that I can't finish, or only finish because of obligation. Three Times Lucky was one of these books. Although the plot idea was interesting, and the writing style was very good, I think that the concept could have been executed differently. This is definitely a book for young adults, not younger kids. There were many gory scenes, and hair-raising experiences. It was basically a murder mystery. Overall, I do not suggest this book. However, every person has the right to their own opinion.

A hilarious Southern debut with the kind of characters you meet once in a lifetime
Rising sixth grader Miss Moses LoBeau lives in the small town of Tupelo Landing, NC, where everyone's business is fair game and no secret is sacred. She washed ashore in a hurricane eleven years ago, and she's been making waves ever since. Although Mo hopes someday to find her "upstream mother," she's found a home with the Colonel--a café owner with a forgotten past of his own--and Miss Lana, the fabulous café hostess. She will protect those she loves with every bit of her strong will and tough attitude. So when a lawman comes to town asking about a murder, Mo and her best friend, Dale Earnhardt Johnson III, set out to uncover the truth in hopes of saving the only family Mo has ever known.
Full of wisdom, humor, and grit, this timeless yarn will melt the heart of even the sternest Yankee.

Three Times Lucky is a great book, especially if you like mysteries. This is a book about a girl named Moses LoBeau who is searching for her birthmother, but ends up finding an unsolved murder. So Mo and her friend Dale start their own business called Desperados Detectives. They do their own investigation on the murder, and you will not believe the information that find out.
This book is a great mystery! It is about a girl named Mo who is abandoned in a hurricane. She is raised by the Colonel and Miss Lana. The mystery starts when Mr.Jesse is murdered. Mo and her friend,Dale, decide to solve the mystery. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!
Three Times Lucky is an amazing book. It is packed with mystery and friendship. It is about a girl named Mo and her friend Dale who work together to solve a murder. I would definitely recommended this book and the sequel to it.
This book is about a girl named Mo who was swept ashore her town after a hurricane. She is now being taken care of by the colonel and his wife. The colonel has a mysterious past and doesnt remember who he was before a car crash. A detective named Joe Starr arrives in town and isnt completely welcomed. When a man named Mr. Jesse is murdered, Mo and her best friend Dale try and solve the murder. I really liked this book and would recommend it to ages 9-12 and people who like murder mysteries.
This book is kind of boring in the beginning. Then it just gets scary and scarier in the middle. At the end its just so scary. I think its one of the best books I ever read.
This book is rather boring. The plot line is too slow to develop and the characters are too mysterious. The concept is interesting, but the ending leaves a lot to be desired. This is not a book I would recommend reading unless you are completely bored.
I liked this because the girl named Mo has journals about her upstream mother. Colonel got in a car crash and found Mo and named her Moses. It was to late to change her name. Miss Lana is like her new mother she made this rule called the Three Day Rule if you are going some where you need to tell her when you are going. Mo's friend Dale is thought to be a suspect of killing Mr. Jesse. Detective Starr is in charge of solving the case. Mo found the murder weapon which was a paddle for the boat that Mr. Jesse was found dead in. Mo, Mrs. Rose, Dale, Colonel, and Miss Lana all survived a hurricane.
it was good
Mo LoBeau is a normal sixth-grader living in Tupello Landing, North Carolina - population 148. Her community is pretty tight-knit and safe - until the murder. She had planned to spend the summer hanging out with her best friend Dale, working in her adoptive mother and adoptive fathers’ cafe and finding her biological “Upstream Mother”. But now it’s up to her and Dale to clear his name, rescue her adoptive mother, stay safe and help recover her adoptive father’s memory in hopes of solving the mystery and figuring out where she belongs. This book is witty, charming, surprisingly real and a great read. It is full of suspense, danger, mystery and addresses real life problems. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a good book.
