The first in New York Times bestselling author Michael Grant's breathtaking dystopian, sci-fi saga, Gone is a page-turning thriller that invokes the classic The Lord of the Flies along with the horror of Stephen King.

In the blink of an eye, everyone disappears. Gone. Except for the young.

There are teens, but not one single adult. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened.

Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents—unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers—that grow stronger by the day. It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: On your birthday, you disappear just like everyone else...

Michael Grant's Gone as been praised for its compelling storytelling, multidimensional characters, and multiple points of view.

this is an amazing story in the third person

This is a very luring book, filled with mystery. Everyone that is 15 and above disappear, including all the adults. Fight breaks out between two leaders. It is the ultimate face off between the good and bad. They must find out how to stop people from disappearing when they turn 15 before its too late.

Fantastic book for teens. One minute you are sitting in class with your fellow classmates and then the next... all of the adults have disappeared! It appears that everyone over the age of 15 has disappeared. At first, everyone enjoys the idea of no adults around, but soon they discover that they need rules to govern themselves and who will become the leader. Some of the children possess powers and they have no idea how they got them or to what extent they need to use or control their new gifts. Could not put the book down and read it in one night.

I love this book and its series!! I got the first book a week ago and now I am on the second and I absolutely love them!!! While they are long, the author keeps you interested by changing the point of view, shocking plot twists, and introducing new elements that keep you on your toes throughout the entire book!! I've never read a book where the author pays such close attention the relationships, while not making a love story, and made such great battles without turning it into a gruesome, gory read. It is FABULOUS!!!

This was an epic story...so one day during school, Sam and his friend Quinn are in history class when suddenly their teacher vanishes. Astrid; from the gifted class also comes running over from the other classroom saying that her teacher is gone, along with her peers. The three of them figure out that anyone over 15 has disappeared for some strange reason. They decide to go back to their houses and see if their parents are there...but they aren't and nobody else's parents are there either. So all the kids under 15 are ransacking shops for food; until Caine, Diana, and Drake show up from the Coates Academy. So Caine becomes the leader of the town as Sam gets put as fire chief. After a few days of Caine being leader, nobody likes him because of his harsh actions and the kids start a rebellion. But they'll have to overthrow Caine before Sam's birthday that is coming up sooner than expected.

I absolutely love this book and the series! I read Gone, Hunger, Lies, and Plague one after the other and currently waiting for Fear to be free on the kindle.
