I will give a thumbs up. I really liked the metaphor that Kate Dicamillo used to display Rob's feelings (A suitcase that Rob,the main character, kept shut). I would recommend this book to ages 8-12 because I think people around that age would enjoy it the most (even though it is a very short and easy to read book). : )
This is a compelling story about Rob and Sistine, two unlikely friends. Rob has a strained relationship with his father after losing his mother. He is bullied at school. Sistine resents her mother leaving her father and movie to this narrow minded town. Read to find out if they overcome!
