"The Homework Machine" is about these four kids that make a machine who does their homework for them, but they get into a little trouble...My favorite part was when they survived the meeting with the police!I recommend this book to anyone who likes computers and not doing their homework.

The unlikely foursome made up of a geek, a class clown, a teacher's pet, and a slacker -- Brenton, Sam "Snick,", Judy and Kelsey, respectively, -- are bound together by one very big secret: the homework machine. Because the machine, code named Belch, is doing their homework for them, they start spending a lot of time together, attracting a lot of attention. And attention is exactly what you don't want when you are keeping a secret.
Before long, members of the D Squad, as they are called at school are getting strange Instant Messages from a shady guy named Milner; their teacher, Miss Rasmussen, is calling private meetings with each of them and giving them pop tests that they are failing; and someone has leaked the possibility of a homework machine to the school newspaper. Just when the D Squad thinks things can't get any more out of control, Belch becomes much more powerful than they ever imagined. Soon the kids are in a race against their own creation, and the loser could end up in jail...or worse!

I don't like this book. But Dan Gutman is a good author.
I really like this book because it really show a really important theme in the story.I wish I could read the second book!
i had to read it in 6 grade for a project i thought i wasnt going to like but it turned out i did
this book might be boring but keep reading its a really good it is a little sad in the middle also kelsey is quite weird
After the first time I read this book from my teacher's classroom library in 4th grade (with thankfully no due dates!), I read it over and over again and didn't let go of it for two months. It was seriously really good. I liked all the characters and found myself now desperately wanting to own this book. My teacher got the sequel and some of his other books in and I devoured them. Another thing that helped me not get completely sucked up by manga and reminded me real literature can be enjoyable too.
I love this book soooooo much. I cant relate to Sam Dawkins because, he said, "His dad is in the military and he got stationed to Luke Air Force Base near Phoinex." My dad is in the Air Force and we got stationed to Luke Air Force base too!
The Homework Machine is almost realistic fiction. It is an adventure with a bit of mystery and some true confessions. the Homework Machine is an EBOB book. The sequel is The Return of the Homework Machine.
I wish i have one of the homework machine when I was young!
This Book is REally good!
