Paul and Maureen have always wanted to own Phantom, a wild mare, ever since they laid eyes on her. Paul is certain they will have a chance to buy her, since this year he will be alound to attend the round up. When Paul actually does manage to catch her, they discover that she has a colt! Will they have enough money to buy her, or will someone else be able to first? I think this book message is that you can never lock up a wild animal for long. I liked this book because Assateauge and Chincoteauge Island are real places. Horse lovers will love this book.
