Georgina Hayes is desperate. Ever since her father left and they were evicted from their apartment, her family has been living in their car. With her mama juggling two jobs and trying to make enough money to find a place to live, Georgina is stuck looking after her younger brother, Toby. And she has her heart set on improving their situation. When Georgina spots a missing-dog poster with a reward of five hundred dollars, the solution to all her problems suddenly seems within reach. All she has to do is "borrow" the right dog and its owners are sure to offer a reward. What happens next is the last thing she expected.

This book has been a favorite in my 4th grade classroom. We espeically like the Mookie character, and think that most books have an old wise character to help the other characters. This is definitely a must-read book. It's also a book that you'll want to talk to your friends about while you are reading.
My fourth grade class is reading that too!I love it!

My library teacher read this to our class! I Was so intrested in the beggining I thought Georgina and Toby were not going to steal the dog! And well.... IT WAS AMAZING! I would definetly recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this book it tells u real facts about how to steal a dog but u really dont steal a dog EVER and its about this homeless girl that trys to fined a missing do for $35,00.00's!!!!!!!

My Fav! It's a really awesome and good book... If you haven't read it yet then read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's about a girl that have to steal a dog for $$$ so her, her brother, Toby, and their mom would have enough money to afford a house or an apartment and not in a car. It's because their dad left them. If it turn out good or bad? you have to read it!

it loks funny and asam at tha sam taim and i love dogs and olso cats and i hav an antty that has 3 dogs and 2 cats
Poor is what this family is. They even live in a car. Now this family needs some money. Some come from the mother who works all day long and some comes from the kids or, the dog kidnappers. Again, WAIT, what is this about dog kidnappers! Really funny and heartwarming. It says you don't really need money, all you need is love.
