This Newbery Honor-winning, hilarious Floridian adventure involves new kids, bullies, alligators, eco-warriors, pancakes, pint-sized owls, and more. A New York Times bestseller!

Everybody loves Mother Paula’s pancakes. Everybody, that is, except the colony of cute but endangered owls that live on the building site of the new restaurant. Can the awkward new kid and his feral friend prank the pancake people out of town? Or is the owls’ fate cemented in pancake batter?

This is a funny mystery and everyone 11 and older should read it.

I didn't really like this book but some people might like it

I have to say that Carl Hiaasen is one of my favorite authors. This book was very interesting and very entertaining as well, after i read this I read all the other Carl Hiaasen books except Flush, which I'm going to read very soon and I bet it'll be just as entertaining, just like all of his other books!

THIS BOOK IS COOL

In the book Hoot, Roy is chasing after a boy who is shoeless, hinds himself face to face with a bully and a few rattle snakes. His risks lead him to some burrowing owls. I loved this book, he also wrote a book called Flush.
