If you had a magical pencil that knows everything, what would you ask it? The main character in the book All the Answers, who's name is Ava gets to find out. She finds the pencil while prepearing for a math test. The pencil is blue. When people write a question using the pencil they hear a voice that tells them what the answer is. Ava only tells her friend Sophie about the pencil. Ava and Sophie find uses for the pencil like finding out how to make Ava's grandfather feel better. But who does the voice belong to? I think the lesson I learned was you do not need to know everything to be happy. I recommend this book if you like reading funny and a little sad stories.

What if your pencil had all the answers? Would you ace every test? Would you know what your teachers were thinking? When Ava Anderson finds a scratched up pencil she doodles like she would with any other pencil. But when she writes a question in the margin of her math quiz, she hears a clear answer in a voice no one else seems to hear.
With the help of her friend Sophie, Ava figures out that the pencil will answer factual questions only – those with definite right or wrong answers – but won't predict the future. Ava and Sophie discover all kinds of uses for the pencil, and Ava's confidence grows with each answer. But it's getting shorter with every sharpening, and when the pencil reveals a scary truth about Ava's family, she realizes that sometimes the bravest people are the ones who live without all the answers...

Ava Anderson finds a magical pencil her grandpa used.
All the Answers is a really great book about a girl named ava who finds a magical pencil and has many adventures with it i would recommend this book to people who like fantasy books I hope you enjoy this book. :)
Everytime I read this book I cry. It describes the best of friendship, and most of all love. Ava finds a pencil in her family junk drawer when she is looking for a pencil to write with in math. In the middle of her math quiz she writes a question and suddenly it speaks to her! Relying on her friend Sophie she tells her what is happening. Turns out Sophie hears it too! Ava finds a passion in playing the Saxophone. Ava also learns that sometimes the truth does more harm than good. She also learns that Grandma Marion might still be beside her.
Ava grabs a pencil from the junk drawer in the morning, goes to take a test at school rewrites one of the answers and? Hears a voice tell her the answer?!!!! Ava is a worrier so when she starts asking the pencil all sorts of questions she gets a answer she doesn't like. But she must be brave enough to do something she doesn't want to to hopefully save a life.
This is one of my most favorite books!!! Ava finds a old blue pencil in her family's junk drawer. Then she discovers that the pencil can give her all the answers of facts when she is writing a question on her math quiz. Then Ava slowly realizes that all the answers does more harm than good.
What would you do if you found a magical pencil that could answer (almost) every question? Ava finds her magical pencil in her family's junk drawer, while quickly rushing to school for a math test. Ava ALWAYS studies but then when she gets to the test all the answers fly out of her brain. But when Ava finds the pencil it gives her the confidence to succeed........Until she finds out her mom has cancer. Which means she must act normal while convincing her mom to go to the doctor while Ava faces her fears. This book teaches that sometimes it's best not to always know all the answers in life but to just sit back enjoy it and know it will all work out!
Ava finds a magic pencil that gives her all the answers. She can just write down her (factual) questions and her pencil tells her the answer, but Ava quickly realizes that having all the answers isn't always a good thing. When she learns through the pencil that her mother has cancer, she will do anything to get her mom help without raising suspicion, even if it means facing her fears and anxieties. This is a thought provoking book about how we try to control everything. But not everything is in our control. Maybe knowing something but being powerless to change anything is worse than not knowing at all.
This book is the best book ever really and truly this pencil does more harm than good. KAte Messner expresses all the feelings in this book and it talks a little about family like divorce and some adventure to try new things.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!1 such imagination was put into it!
