This book was quite great, it had an amazing story line and overall was pretty good, I loved the fact that each character has a opinion to Johnny. However it always is quite entertaining, we get to see the fact that Johnny was so arrogant at the beginning, then at the end he softens up a bit. I do think quite a few parts did cause some emotional effects, especially for me. It also shocked me that the author was dyslexic, if you really enjoy reading, love historical fiction, and most of all love the American revolutionary war, its a perfect read.

Johnny Tremain, winner of the 1944 Newbery Medal, is one of the finest historical novels ever written for children. As compelling today as it was seventy years ago, to read this riveting novel is to live through the defining events leading up to the American Revolutionary War. Fourteen-year-old Johnny Tremain, an apprentice silversmith with a bright future ahead of him, injures his hand in a tragic accident, forcing him to look for other work. In his new job as a horse-boy, riding for the patriotic newspaper, The Boston Observer, and as a messenger for the Sons of Liberty, he encounters John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Dr. Joseph Warren. Soon Johnny is involved in the pivotal events shaping the American Revolution from the Boston Tea Party to the first shots fired at Lexington. Powerful illustrations by American artist Michael McCurdy bring to life Esther Forbes's quintessential novel of the American Revolution.

Loved it but really long
It was ok in the beginning and towards the middle got so boring and hard to read. I read this for school and I wouldn't recommend it just to read unless you are a really fluently reader and like historical fiction. Not one person in my class liked this book.
not good very boring the only reason that I would ever had read it is because it was a school assignment.
This book has some really great messages. But, it can be really boring. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that I had to read it for school.
Johnny Tremain is an amazing book based in 1770`s, just before and during the revolutionary war. It tells the story of a young silversmiths apprentice, and his adventures in Boston. I liked this book because it make history interesting by telling a story about working through hard times, and letting go of your pride. I connected with Johnny because he is my age and he goes through many of the struggles that a modern day teen would have to go through. It was very engaging and had plenty of action. It was also interesting to me because I live very close to Boston and I've seen may of the places that are mentioned in this book. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes books. In conclusion, this book teaches many lessons and is fun to read.
this book can be kind of boring but you have to keep reading for it to get interesting.
