What a year it has been so far for world records - First 26-year old Travis Pastrana stuns the world with his amazing leap, then the world's tallest building finally opens its door and now, two skydivers set another record by leaping off it's 200th floor.

Nasr Al Niyadi and his trainer, Omar El Hegelan, both skilled skydivers, performed their record breaking jump on the afternoon of January 6th, after receiving permission from the building authorities.

The duo leaped from a giant crane that transported them 2,717ft. to the top of the building. Free falling at an amazing speed of 137mph for the first 10 seconds, they then glided down with a parachute for the next 80 seconds, and landed gracefully at the Burj Park Island, where Nasr was greeted by his five kids.

Nasr said that while he was a little nervous before the descent, this ranked as the best skydiving fall he has done since he started in 2002. And he would know, for Nasr has over 2500 skydiving jumps to his credit including, a recent record-breaking one, which involved jumping off Mt.Everest.

Skydiving, also known as Parachuting, was first made popular by Andre-Jacques Garnerin in 1797. Over the years, the sport has been further refined into various categories. Nasr and his trainer are experts at B.A.S.E jumping. The acronym stands for Buildings, Antennas, Spans (bridges), and Earth (cliff) - All the fixed objects that these jumpers use, to leap off.

That's very cool! I don't even think I could go to the top of the building. I would have been so scared if I did that. I don't think I'll ever skydive.

Wow, that is amazing. I've always wanted to skydive. I am a risk taker but even I wouldn't dive from that height. You must of had many crazy thoughts running through your head at that time.

Wow thats soooo cool!! I cant imagine jumping off a building that tall. It must have been really hard to gather up the courage to do that! I admire the sky jumpers for that, but if I had a choice I would not do it.
